Essay - Students and Social Service

 Introduction: The part of our life that is spent in learning knowledge in formal institutions is called student life. It is the seed time of life. At this time, a student has to mould his life and character. Apart from his academic learning, a student should work for the welfare of his fellows living in society. Importance of student life: Student life is the most essential life for a student. A student has to take proper preparation for the struggle of life. If the students can not boost up their bases, they will fail to mould their lives smoothly. So, student life gives a man opportunity to shape his life.  

Primary duty of a student: The primary duty of a student is 'to learn'. Study is the main obsession of a student. He has to complete his syllabus by learning properly. He has to learn discipline, truthfulness, sympathy, love and affection for the humanity.  

Their service to the society: Students are the part of society. They owe to the social norms. They must work for the society. As a social being, they must come and raise themselves for the help of the society. Their help and co-operation will transmute a society to the path of prosperity and perfection.  

To remove illiteracy: Students are the future leaders and torchbearers of the country. They are the harbingers of education and light. They must come forward to remove the illiteracy of the country. If the students are literate while vast majorities of the people are illiterate, their excellence I will not be of any success. They have to work for the removal of illiteracy among the people.

To create consciousness in health and sanitation: Most of our people are not aware of health and sanitation. They do not know how to lead a healthy and planned life. In this case the students must create consciousness about the rules of health and sanitation. They can arrange campaign and seminars to create people's knowledge and idea.  

In vaccination programs: In case of vaccination programs, our students can stand by the people. Our people have insufficient knowledge about immunization and vaccination. They are afraid of these. Even they express this prejudices and superstitions regarding the nationwide immunization day. In this case the students can come forward to explain the importance of these. They can help to rectify and motivate the people.  

To save the country: Students have great responsibilities to save the country. They must think for the nation and the country. In case of foreign domination and national crisis, the students will come forward to remove all the obstacles threatening the country.  

During natural calamities: During natural calamities, the duties of the students grow high. In case of cyclone, floods, famines and other natural calamities, the sufferings of the people are indescribable. The students can stand by their side. They can run relief work along with government and non-government organizations. They can raise funds to help the distressed and affected people. Their soft temperament and humanitarian zeal can raise the ray of hope among the sufferers.  

In population control: Bangladesh is a densely populated country. Our people do not follow the rules of population control. The students can help the people to create consciousness in this case. They can teach them about the harmful effects of over-population. They can motivate them to adopt family planning.  

In agriculture: In agricultural production, our students can escort the illiterate farmers. The farmers have no knowledge of scientific method of cultivation, The students can teach them about the advanced methods of agriculture. Thus the students can help the farmers to grow bumper crops.  

Conclusion: Student life is the foundation of life. In this life, students have to study and work for the people. If they can sacrifice themselves to the work of humanity, there will create a happy and prosperous nation. 

রচনা - ছাত্র ও সমাজসেবা 

ভূমিকা: আমাদের জীবনের যে সময় জ্ঞানার্জনে আনুষ্ঠানিক শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠানে ব্যয় হয়, তাকে ছাত্র জীবন বলা হয়। এটা জীবনের বীজ বপনের সময়। এই সময়ে, একজন ছাত্রকে তার জীবন ও চরিত্র গঠন করতে হয়। তার আনুষ্ঠানিক শিক্ষা ব্যতীত, একজন ছাত্রকে সমাজে বসবাকারী সঙ্গীদের কল্যাণে কাজ করা উচিত।  

ছাত্র জীবনের গুরুত্ব : একজন ছাত্রের জন্য ছাত্রজীবন সবচেয়ে অত্যাবশ্যকীয় জীবন। জীবন সংগ্রামের জন্য একজন ছাত্রকে উপযুক্ত প্রস্তুতি গ্রহণ করতে হবে। যদি ছাত্ররা তাদের ভিত্তিকে সুদৃঢ় করতে না পারে, তাহলে তারা তাদের জীবনকে সুন্দরভাবে গঠন করতে পারে না। তাই, ছাত্রজীবন একজন মানুষকে তার জীবনকে বিশেষ আকৃতিতে গঠনের সুযোগ দেয়।  

একজন ছাত্রের প্রাথমিক দায়িত্ব: একজন ছাত্রের প্রাথমিক দায়িত্ব শিক্ষা গ্রহণ করা। অধ্যয়নই একজন ছাত্রের প্রধান বন্ধ সংস্কার। উপযুক্ত শিক্ষা গ্রহণ করে তাকে তার পাঠ্যক্রম শেষ করতে হবে। মানবতার জন্য তাকে শৃঙ্খলা, সত্যবাদিতা, সহানুভূতি, ভালোবাসা ও স্নেহের শিক্ষা গ্রহণ করতে হবে। সমাজের প্রতি ছাত্রদের সেবা: ছাত্ররা সমাজের অংশ। তারা সমাজের আদর্শের কাছে ঋণী। তাদেরকে অবশ্যই সমাজের জন্য কাজ করতে হবে। সামাজিক জীব হিসেবে তাদেরকে সমাজকে সহায়তার জন্য এগুতে হবে, নিজেদেরকে জাগিয়ে তুলতে হবে। সমৃদ্ধি ও উৎকর্ষের পথে তাদের সাহায্য ও সহযোগিতা সমাজকে রূপান্তরিত করবে।

নিরক্ষরতা দূর করা: ছাত্ররা দেশের ভবিষ্যৎ পথপ্রদর্শক ও আলোকবর্তিকা। তারা শিক্ষার দূত ও আলো। দেশের নিরক্ষরতা দূর করতে তাদের অবশ্যই এগিয়ে আসতে হবে। যদি ছাত্ররা অক্ষর জ্ঞান সম্পন্ন হয়, যখন বিশাল সংখ্যাগরিষ্ঠ মানুষ নিরক্ষর, তাহলে উৎকর্ষতা কোনভাবেই সফল হবে না। মানুষের মধ্য থেকে নিরক্ষতা দূর করার জন্য তাদের কাজ করতে হবে।  

স্বাস্থ্য ও স্বাস্থ্যবিধির সচেতনেতা সৃষ্টি করা: আমাদের অধিকাংশ লোক স্বাস্থ্য ও স্বাস্থ্যবিধি সম্বন্ধে সচেতন নয়। তারা স্বাস্থ্যবান ও পরিকল্পিত জীবনযাপন করতে জানে না। এক্ষেত্রে ছাত্ররা অবশ্যই স্বাস্থ্য ও স্বাস্থ্যবিধি সম্বন্ধে সচেতনেতা সৃষ্টি করতে পারে। জনগণের মধ্যে জ্ঞান ধারণা সৃষ্টির জন্য তারা অভিযান ও সেমিনারের ব্যবস্থা করতে পারে।  

টিকাদান কর্মসূচি: টিকাদান কর্মসূচির ক্ষেত্রে, আমাদের ছাত্ররা জনগণের পাশে দাঁড়াতে পারে। আমাদের জনগণের প্রতিষেধক প্রদান ও টিকাদান সম্বন্ধে পর্যাপ্ত জ্ঞান নেই। তারা এগুলোকে ভয় পায়। এমনকি জাতিব্যাপী প্রতিষেধক দিবসকে তারা বিদ্বেষ ও কুসংস্কার হিসেবে প্রকাশ করে। এক্ষেত্রে ছাত্ররা এর গুরুত্ব ব্যাখ্যা করতে তারা সামনে এগিয়ে আসতে পারে। তারা জনগণকে সংশোধন ও উদ্বুদ্ধ করতে সাহায্য করতে পারে।  

দেশকে রক্ষা করা: দেশকে রক্ষা করতে ছাত্রদের বড় দায়িত্ব আছে। তাদেরকে অবশ্যই জাতি ও দেশের জন্য ভাবতে হবে। বিদেশিদের অত্যাচার ও জাতীয় সংকটের ক্ষেত্রে দেশকে সকল প্রকার হুমকির সম্মুখ থেকে রক্ষা করতে ছাত্ররা সামনে এগিয়ে আসবে।  

প্রাকৃতিক দুর্যোগের সময়: প্রাকৃতিক দুর্যোগের সময়, ছাত্রদের কর্তব্য অনেক বৃদ্ধি পায়। ঘূর্ণিঝড়, বন্যা, দুর্ভিক্ষ ও অন্যান্য প্রাকৃতিক দুর্যোগের ফলে, জনসাধারণ অবর্ণনীয় দুর্ভোগ পোহায়। ছাত্ররা তাদের পাশে দাঁড়াতে পারে। তারা সরকারি ও বেসরকারি সংস্থার সাথে ত্রাণকার্য চালাতে পারে। তারা দুস্থ ও আক্রান্ত লোকদের সাহায্য করতে তহবিল সৃষ্টি করতে পারে। তাদের শান্ত মেজাজ ও মানব হিতৈষী উদ্দীপনা। দুস্থ লোকদের মধ্যে আশার আলো দেখা দিতে পারে।  

জনসংখ্যা নিয়ন্ত্রণে : বাংলাদেশে একটি জনসংখ্যা অধ্যুষিত দেশ। আমাদের জনগণ জনসংখ্যা নিয়ন্ত্রণ অনুসরণ করে না। এক্ষেত্রে আমাদের ছাত্ররা  সচেতনতা সৃষ্টিতে জনগণকে সহায়তা করতে পারে। তারা অধিক জনসংখ্যার ভয়াবহতা সম্বন্ধে তাদের শিক্ষা দিতে পারে। তারা তাদের পারিবারিক e পরিকল্পনা অনুসরণে উদ্বুদ্ধ করতে পারে।  

কৃষিতে: কৃষি উৎপাদনে আমাদের ছাত্ররা নিরক্ষর কৃষকদের সহচর হতে পারে। কৃষকদের বৈজ্ঞানিক পদ্ধতিতে চাষাবাদের জ্ঞান নেই। ছাত্ররা কৃষির s উন্নত পদ্ধতি সম্বন্ধে তাদের শিক্ষা দিতে পারে। এভাবে ছাত্ররা পর্যাপ্ত ফসল উৎপাদনে কৃষকদের সাহায্য করতে পারে। 

উপসংহার: ছাত্রজীবন জীবনের ভিত্তি। এ জীবনে ছাত্রদের পড়াশুনা ও জনগণের জন্য কাজ করতে হবে। যদি তারা মানবতার কাজে নিজেদের উৎসর্গ করে, তাহলে একটি সুখী ও সমৃদ্ধ জাতি সৃষ্টি হবে।
