Essay - Your Favourite Hobby

Introduction: Hobby is an important medium to pass leisure. It is not profession for earning one's livelihood. It gives the earning of man. My hobby also gives me a lot. I am fond of my hobby.  

Different types of hobby: There are different types of hobby. These are gardening, reading, stamp collecting, fishing, painting, horse race etc. Different men choose different hobby based on their tastes and sentiments.  

Importance of hobby: Man is fond of hobby. Without it, man can not pass time. Hobbies give freshness and animation amidst of dullness and monotony of life. It removes our tiredness. It gives us solace and satiety from the restricted routine life. Man gets innumerable pleasures after doing their ordained duties. The refreshments got from hobby encourage man to resume work with renewed strength and power.  

Hobby can be termed as the source of our animation and working capabilities. Again, man can get knowledge from different types of hobbies. Travelling offers man to come in close with important places or objects. Reading exhorts man to increase the horizon of experience and knowledge. The collection of insects and flowers also give knowledge and pleasure. Thus different hobbies give different benefits to us. 

My hobby: I am a student. I have also a hobby. Since my boyhood, I like flowers and plants. Depending on my tendency and liking, I have selected gardening as my hobby. I have also selected this hobby because it does not cost me money. I get immense pleasure from my hobby.  

What I do for my hobby ?: I have made a garden in front of our house. At first I enclosed the whole area. After that I ploughed the area well. I planted flowers and vegetables. I also make arrangement to prefect my plants well. Now my plants have grown well. In the afternoon, I go to my garden. I stay one and half hour there. I weed out the garden and water the plants. Some times I give chemicals and insecticides to protect them from insects. When the flower plants are in problem, I take the advice of my father and agriculture teacher. There are varieties of flower plants in my garden. I loose soil with spade and prune the branches. I have made only a gate to enter into my garden. 

What I get from my hobby?: My hobby does not cost much money. It may kill my some time and energy. But my return from this is huge. When I go to my garden, I get indescribable pleasure. My joys know no bounds when the full-blown flowers toss in the breeze on bright sun shine. These flowers fascinate me greatly. When I get tired I go to my garden. I refresh myself amidst the blooming flowers. Some time, my joy reaches so high that I forget to come out of my garden. My garden serves another purpose. Our family is benefited from the vegetables of my garden. 

Demerits: My hobby has no demerits worth mentioning. Anyone may say it snatches away my time. But I think it is no waste of time and energy. The one or two hours that I work in my garden is not a waste of time. Rather it gives me much.

Conclusion: Man needs refreshment and pleasure. Hobbies are for this. Human mind can go through smooth and refined manner by means of hobbies. But one must realize that hobbies should be creative and innovative. In my personal life, I feel highly glad of my hobby.

ভূমিকা: শখ অবসর কাটানোর একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ মাধ্যম। এটি কারো জীবন ধারণের জন্য রোজগারের পেশা নয়। এটি মানুষের উপার্জিত ধন দেয়। আমার শখও আমাকে অনেক কিছু দেয়। আমি আমার শখকে ভালোবাসি।

বিভিন্ন ধরনের শখ: বিভিন্ন ধরনের শখ আছে। এগুলো হলো বাগান করা, বই পড়া, টিকিট সংগ্রহ, মাছ ধরা, ছবি আঁকা, ঘোড় দৌড় ইত্যাদি। বিভিন্ন মানুষ তাদের রুচি ও হৃদয়ানুভূতির উপর ভিত্তি করে বিভিন্ন শখ পছন্দ করে। 

শখের গুরুত্ব: মানুষ শখ প্রিয়। এটি ছাড়া, মানুষ সময় কাটাতে পারে না। শখ নিরানন্দ ও একঘেয়েমি জীবনের মধ্যে সজীবতা ও উৎযুরভাব প্রদান করে। এটি আমাদের ক্লান্তি দূর করে। এটি গতানুগতিক সীমাবদ্ধ জীবন থেকে সান্ত্বনা ও পরিতৃপ্তি দান করে। মানুষ তাদের নিয়মিত কর্তব্য করার পর অনাবিল আনন্দ লাভ করে। শখ থেকে নবশক্তি প্রাপ্তি মানুষকে পূর্ণোদ্যমে শক্তি ও ক্ষমতার সাথে পুনরায় কাজ করার উৎসাহ যোগায়। শখকে আমাদের সজীবতা ও কর্মদক্ষতার উৎস হিসেবে নাম দেওয়া যেতে পারে। আবার, বিভিন্ন ধরনের শখ থেকে মানুষ জ্ঞান লাভ করতে পারে। ভ্রমণ মানুষকে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ স্থান ও বস্তুর কাছাকাছি আসতে আহ্বান করে। অধ্যয়ন মানুষকে অভিজ্ঞতা ও জ্ঞানের দিগন্তকে বৃদ্ধি করতে প্রণোদিত করে। কীটপতঙ্গ ও ফুল সংগ্রহও জ্ঞান ও আনন্দ দান করে। এভাবে বিভিন্ন শখ আমাদেরকে বিভিন্ন উপকার প্রদান করে থাকে। 

আমার শখ: আমি একজন ছাত্র। আমারও একটি শখ আছে। বাল্যকাল থেকে আমি স্কুল ও চারাগাছ পছন্দ করি। আমার ঝোঁক ও পছন্দের উপর নির্ভর করে আমি বাগান করাকে শখ হিসেবে বাছাই করেছি। আমি এই শখকে বাছাই করেছি। কারণ এরজন্য টাকা খরচ হয় না। আমি আমার শখ থেকে অনাবিল আনন্দ পাই। 

আমার শখের জন্য আমি কী করি? আমি আমার গৃহের সামনে একটি বাগান করেছি। প্রথমে আমি পুরো এলাকা ঘেরাও করেছি। তারপর আমি এলাকাটি ভালোভাবে কর্ষণ করেছি। আমি ফুল ও সব্জি লাগিয়েছি। আমি আমার গাছগুলোকে ভালোভাবে সম্পূর্ণ করতেও ব্যবস্থা করেছি। এখন আমার গাছগুলো ভালোভাবে জন্মেছে। অপরাহ্নে, আমি আমার বাগানে যাই। আমি সেখানে দেড় ঘণ্টা অবস্থান করি। আমি আগাছা নিড়িয়ে দেই ও গাছে পানি দেই। মাঝে মাঝে রাসায়নিক দ্রব্য ও কীটনাশক দেই ওগুলো রক্ষা করতে। যখন ফুল গাছগুলোর সমস্যা হয়, তখন আমি আমার বাবা ও কৃষি শিক্ষকের পরামর্শ গ্রহণ করি। আমার বাগানে বিভিন্ন রকমের ফুল গাছ আছে। আমি কোদাল দিয়ে মাটি আলগা করে দেই ও ডালপালা ছেঁটে দেই। আমি আমার বাগানে ঢুকতে মাত্র একটি দরজা বানিয়েছি।  

আমার শখ থেকে আমি কী পাই?: আমার শখের জন্য বেশি টাকা খরচ হয় না। এটি হয়তো আমার কিছু সময় ও শক্তি নষ্ট করে। কিন্তু বিনিময়ে প্রাপ্তি প্রচুর। যখন আমি আমার বাগানে যাই, তখন অবর্ণনীয় আনন্দ পাই। যখন পূর্ণ প্রস্ফুটিত ফুল উজ্জ্বল সূর্যালোকে বাতাসে দোল খেতে থাকে, তখন আমার আনন্দের সীমা থাকে না। এই ফুলগুলো আমাকে প্রচণ্ডভাবে বিমোহিত করে। আমি ক্লান্ত হলে বাগানে চলে যাই। প্রস্ফুটিত ফুলের সান্নিধ্যে আমি নিজেকে সতেজ করে তুলি। কোন কোন সময় আমার আনন্দ এমন তুঙ্গে উঠে যে আমি বাগান থেকে বের হয়ে আসতে ভুলে যাই। আমার বাগান অপর উদ্দেশ্যে কাজ করে। আমাদের পরিবার আমার বাগানের সব্জি হতে উপকার পেয়ে থাকে। 

অপকারিতা: এটি উল্লেখযোগ্য যে আমার শখের কোন অপকারিতা নেই। যে t কেউ বলতে পারে যে এটি আমার সময় কেড়ে নেয়। কিন্তু আমি মনে করি e এতে আমার সময় ও শক্তি অপচয় হয় না। যে এক বা দুই ঘণ্টা আমি বাগানে কাজ করি এটি সময় অপচয় নয়। বরং এটি আমাকে অনেক দেয়।  

উপসংহার: মানুষের নবশক্তি ও আনন্দ প্রয়োজন। এর জন্যই শখ। শখের কারণে মানুষের মন সুন্দর ও মার্জিতভাবে চলতে পারে। কিন্তু কাউকে অবশ্যই উপলব্ধি করতে হবে যে শখ সৃজনশীল ও পরিবর্তনশীল হওয়া দরকার। আমার ব্যক্তিগত জীবনে, আমার শখের জন্য আমি অত্যন্ত আনন্দিত।
