Summary of the Story: The story is about a lady admirer of the writer. He was a young writer who received a letter from a lady who highly praised his writing. He instantly replied thanking her. In the next letter, she invited him to have a lunch at a very costly restaurant. Being young and being flattered, he could not say no. So he became a prey to the voracious lady. He had only 80 francs. He thought that he could manage the lunch easily. Though she assured him that she didn't eat anything at lunch but one after another she continued eating very costly foods that only senators used to eat at that restaurant. She enjoyed champagne, asparagus, coffee and finally the salmon and more....
