Introduction: Women constitute half of the total population of our country. Their role in our national development is great. They are equal to men in this regard. No one can deny it. So, they should be empowered. Now let us discuss why women's empowerment is essential. Definition: Empowerment means the act of giving the powerless power. So, women's empowerment means the act of giving women power to join various workforces.  

Women's condition in the past: Women's condition in the past was very pathetic. They were confined within four walls. They were dependent on the male members. They were busy with household chores. They did not have the right to go out. They suffered from malnutrition. They were the victims of gender discrimination.  

Importance of women's empowerment: Women's empowerment is vital. It will help women to be self-sufficient. It will help to resist oppression against women. It will unchain women from gender discrimination. Women will be able to contribute to our national development if they are empowered. To make the dreams of the nation true, women's assistance is a must. Women's empowerment can ensure their all rights. 

Steps for empowerment: For the empowerment of women, some steps are necessary. Women should be given proper education. They should be made more conscious of their rights. More work opportunities should be created for them. They should be given just wages at their work place. They should be protected from any type of oppression and sexual harassment. They should be involved in national politics.

Present condition: The present condition of women's empowerment is positive. Women are becoming educated. Now they are conscious of their rights. They are no longer confined to the four walls of their homes. They are joining many jobs. They are competing with men. They are working in garments, educational institutions, mills and factories. Many women are becoming pilots, doctors, engineers and so on. Many are protecting the country. Now, we see that women are involved in politics. They are becoming Prime Minister, Home Minister, Foreign Minister and what not. Women are contributing to family income. They have been able to bring happiness and peace to their families. Thus, women have brought benefits for our families, society and for the nation.  

Attitude towards them: At present men have changed their attitude towards women. Now every sector is opened for women. They can easily join any job. They have proved their worth. Like men, they are respected at their work place. Conclusion: In the end, we can say that women are our great asset. They are helping in our national development. We should create suitable environment for their work. Otherwise, the country will lag behind.

রচনা - বাংলাদেশে নারীর ক্ষমতায়ন

ভূমিকা : নারীরা আমাদের দেশের মোট জনসংখ্যার অর্ধেক। আমাদের জাতীয় উন্নয়নে তাদের ভূমিকা অনেক বৃহৎ। এ ক্ষেত্রে তারা পুরুষের সমান। কেউ এটা অস্বীকার করতে পারে না। তাই তাদের ক্ষমতায়ন করা উচিত। কেন নারীর ক্ষমতায়ন অপরিহার্য তা আলোচনা করছি। সংজ্ঞা : ক্ষমতায়ন বলতে ক্ষমতাহীনকে কাজ করতে দেওয়া বুঝায়। তাই নারীর ক্ষমতায়ন বলতে নারীদের বিভিন্ন কর্মশক্তিতে যোগদান করার কাজকে বুঝায়।  

অতীতে মহিলাদের অবস্থা : অতীতে নারীদের অবস্থা খুব খারাপ ছিল। তারা চার দেওয়ালের মধ্যে সীমাবদ্ধ ছিল। তাদেরকে পুরুষ সদস্যের উপর নির্ভর করতে হতো। তারা বাড়ির গৃহস্থালি কাজে ব্যস্ত থাকত। তাদের বাইরে যাওয়ার অধিকার ছিল না। তারা অপুষ্টিতে ভুগতো। তারা লিঙ্গ বৈষম্যের শিকার ছিল।  

নারীর ক্ষমতায়নের গুরুত্ব : নারীর ক্ষমতায়ন অপরিহার্য। এটা নারীদের স্বয়ংসম্পূর্ণতা অর্জন করতে সাহায্য করবে। এটা নারীদের অত্যাচারের বিরুদ্ধে প্রতিরোধ করতে সাহায্য করবে। এটা লিঙ্গ বৈষম্য থেকে নারীদের শৃঙ্খলমুক্ত করবে। যদি নারীদের ক্ষমতায়ন করা হয় তারা আমাদের জাতীয় উন্নয়নে অবদান রাখাতে সক্ষম হবে। জাতির স্বপ্ন বাস্তবায়ন করতে নারীর সহযোগিতা আবশ্যক। নারীর ক্ষমতায়ন তাদের সকল অধিকার নিশ্চিত করতে পারে। 

ক্ষমাতায়নের জন্য পদক্ষেপ : নারীর ক্ষমাতায়েনের জন্য কিছু পদক্ষেপ নেওয়া প্রয়োজন। নারীদের যথাযথ শিক্ষা দেওয়া উচিত। তাদেরকে অধিকার সম্পর্কে আরো সচেতন করতে হবে। তাদের জন্য আরো বেশি কাজের সুযোগ সৃষ্টি করা উচিত। তাদেরকে কর্মস্থলে উপযুক্ত মজুরি দিতে হবে। তাদেরকে যে কোন নির্যাতন এবং যৌন হয়রানি থেকে রক্ষা করতে হবে। তাদেরকে জাতীয় রাজনীতিতে যুক্ত করা উচিত। 

বর্তমান অবস্থা : নারীর ক্ষমতায়নের বর্তমান অবস্থা ইতিবাচক। নারীরা শিক্ষিত হচ্ছে। তারা এখন তাদের অধিকার সম্পর্কে সচেতন। তারা বাড়ির চার দেওয়ালের মধ্যে সীমাবদ্ধ নেই। তারা অনেক কাজে যোগদান করছে। তারা পুরুষের সাথে প্রতিযোগিতা করছে। তারা গার্মেন্টস, শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠান, মিল, কলকারখানায় কাজ করছে। অনেক নারী পাইলট, ডাক্তার, প্রকৌশলী এবং আর অনেক কিছু হচ্ছে। তারা দেশকে রক্ষা করছে। এখন আমরা দেখি যে নারীরা রাজনীতিতে জড়িয়ে পড়ছে। তারা প্রধানমন্ত্রী, স্বরাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রী, পররাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রী এবং আর কত কি না হচ্ছে। নারীরা পরিবারের আয়ে অবদান রাখছে। তারা পরিবারের সুখ সমৃদ্ধি আনার জন্য সমর্থ হয়েছে। তারা পরিবার, সমাজ এবং জাতির জন্য উপকার বয়ে নিয়ে আসছে।  

তাদের দিকে দৃষ্টি : বর্তমানে পুরুষেরা নারীদের প্রতি তাদের দৃষ্টিভঙ্গি পরিবর্তন করেছে। বর্তমানে মহিলাদের জন্য প্রতিটি সেক্টর উন্মুক্ত। তারা সহজেই যে কোন চাকরিতে যোগদান করতে পারে। তারা তাদের যোগ্যতা প্রমাণ করছে। পুরুষের মতো, তারা কর্মস্থলে সম্মানিত।  

উপসংহার : পরিশেষে আমরা বলতে পারি যে নারীরা আমাদের বড় সম্পদ। তারা আমাদের জাতীয় উন্নতিতে সহায়তা করছে। তাদের কাজের জন্য আমাদের উপযুক্ত পরিবেশ সৃষ্টি করতে হবে। অন্যথায়, আমাদের দেশ পিছিয়ে পড়বে।
