Essay - Your Idea of a Gentle Man

Introduction: A gentleman is honourable to everyone. To become a gentleman, one has to possess some sterling qualities. Wealth, riches and prosperity can not make a man gentle. A gentleman becomes the talk of everyone in the society. 

Who is gentleman?: A man who is polite and well educated, who has excellent manners and always behaves well is gentlemen. He may not be rich but everywhere he is esteemed highly. The man who has great riches, pelf and power may not be a gentleman. Others may be under his control, but they do not show respect to him from the core of his heart. Thus a gentleman takes a dignified position in the mind of man  

The qualities of gentleman: To be a gentleman, one must have propriety of manners and consideration for others. His sterling qualities will beget others love and affection. He will be dignified enough to please others. He will be above all manners and prejudices. He must cultivate all essential humanities. Moreover a gentleman must be humane and kind. 

Man of character: A gentleman must be a man of character. He will possess sound and perfect character. He will not be tainted. Everywhere he will be embellished with good norms of character. He will not be corrupted and adulterated. He will raise his head everywhere with boldness and patience. He is pious, gentle, polite, courageous and self-assertive. Everybody will be enticed by his purified and untainted character.  

Honesty: A gentleman must have honesty. He will be free, frank and honest to everyone. He will not cheat others. Nor anybody will be looked down upon by him. In all occasions his honesty will be distinct and exposed. He will not be afraid to disclose the truth everywhere. He will not surrender to any ill-motives. His sense of honesty will lead him to the path of generosity.  

Truthful: A gentleman must be truthful. In any situation, he will not cow down or sacrifice his sense of truthfulness. He will not be coaxed by anyone to divert from truthfulness. He will always cling to it. His truthfulness will motivate others to lead them to the path of truthfulness.  

Hates back-biting: A gentleman has a dignified soul. He is enlightened, innovative and progressive. He has a refined sensibility and broader outlook. He looks at everyone and everything with greater perspective. He does not despise others nor does he back-bite others.  

Sympathetic: A true gentleman is always guided by the principles of humanity. He knows that man is for man. He is endowed with best qualities by God. He has rationality. He has high sense of humanitarian zeal and fervour. His heart cries for the distressed, dejected and in short, for total humanity. He is an embodiment of benevolence and kindness. A gentleman works for the removing of sufferings from common man. He goes deep into humanity and tries his best to give them ray of hope. He never derails himself from this humanistic attitude. He looks upon all men as his fellow brothers. He finds delight in contributing for the mankind. In fact, a true gentleman will be sympathetic and kind hearted. 

Conclusion: In fact, a gentleman is one who never inflicts pains and tortures to others. He has strength and consciousness of inner state of mind. A gentleman must be honest, truthful, courageous and self-respecting.

ভূমিকা : একজন ভদ্রলোক প্রত্যেকের কাছে সম্মানিত। একজন ভদ্রলোক হতে হলে একজনের অসামান্য কিছু গুণাবলি থাকতে হবে। ধনসম্পদ এবং সাফল্য একজন মানুষকে ভদ্র করতে পারে। একজন নম্র ব্যক্তি সমাজে সবার আলোচনায় আসে।  

ভদ্রলোক কে : একজন ব্যক্তি যার বুদ্ধি এবং মনন গুণ আছে তাকে ভদ্রলোক বলে। সে ধনী না হতে পারে কিন্তু প্রত্যেক ক্ষেত্রে ব্যাপক শ্রদ্ধার পাত্র। একজন ব্যক্তির অনেক ধন সম্পত্তি, টাকা কড়ি এবং ক্ষমতা থাকলেও সে ভদ্রলোক হতে পারে না। অন্যরা তার নিয়ন্ত্রণাধীনে থাকতে পারে কিন্তু তারা তাকে মন থেকে শ্রদ্ধা করে না। সুতরাং একজন ভদ্রলোক মানুষের মনে একটা সম্মানীয় জায়গা করে নেন।  

একজন ভদ্রলোকের গুণাবলি : একজন ভদ্রলোক হতে হলে কাউকে অবশ্যই আচরণের উপযুক্ততা এবং অন্যদের জন্য বিবেচনা থাকতে হবে। তার অসামান্য গুণাবলি অন্যদের মধ্যে মায়া মমতার জন্ম দেয়। সে অন্যদের আনন্দ দিয়ে সম্মানীত হয়। সে সর্বোপরি আদবকায়দা এবং পর্যাপ্ত জ্ঞানসম্পন্ন হবে। সে অবশ্যই সব অপরিহার্য মানবিক গুণাবলি আয়ত্ত করবে। অধিকন্তু একজন ভদ্রলোক অবশ্যই মানবীয় এবং দয়ালু হবে।  

চরিত্রবান: একজন ভদ্রলোককে অবশ্যই চরিত্রবান হতে হবে। তাকে পুতপবিত্র এবং সুন্দর চরিত্রের অধিকারী হতে হবে। সে কলুষিত হবে না। প্রত্যেক ক্ষেত্রে সে সচ্চরিত্রের আদর্শে সুশোভিত হবে। সে দুর্নীতিগ্রস্ত এবং দুশ্চরিত্রের হবে না। সে সাহস এবং ধৈর্যের সাথে যেকোন জায়গায় তার মাথা উঁচু করে দাঁড়াবে। সে ধার্মিক, নম্র, ভদ্র, সাহসী এর আত্মপ্রবণ হবে। সবাই তার সৎ এবং নিষ্কলঙ্কিত চরিত্রে প্রলোভিত হবে।  

সততা: একজন ভদ্রলোক অবশ্যই সৎ হবে। সে প্রত্যেকের কাছে স্বাধীনচেতা, অমায়িক এবং সত্যবাদী হবে। সে কারো সাথে প্রতারণা করবে না। সে কাউকে ছোট করে দেখবে না। সর্বত্র তার সততা দৃঢ় এবং মূর্তপ্রকাশ হবে। সে প্রত্যেক ক্ষেত্রে সত্যপ্রকাশ করতে ভয় পাবে না। সে কোন কুপ্রবৃত্তির কাছে আত্মসমর্পণ করবে না। তার সততার বোধশক্তি উদারতার পথে চালিত করবে।  

সত্যবাদী: একজন ভদ্রলোক অবশ্যই সত্যবাদী হবে। যেকোন পরিস্থিতিতে, তার সততার জ্ঞান শক্তিকে উৎসর্গ করবে না। সে কারোর প্রলোভনে পড়ে সততা থেকে বিচ্যুত হবে না। সে সর্বদা এর সাথে লেগে থাকবে। তার সত্যবাদিতা অন্যদের সততার পথে পরিচালিত করবে।  

নিন্দাকে ঘৃণা করা : একজন ভদ্র ব্যক্তির একটি শ্রদ্ধাশীল মন আছে। সে আলোকিত, পরিবর্তনশীল এবং উন্নতিশীল। তার একটি সুন্দর জ্ঞান এবং প্রসারিত দৃষ্টিভঙ্গি রয়েছে। সে ব্যাপক অনুধাবনের সাথে সবাইকে এবং সবকিছু রক্ষণাবেক্ষণ করে। সে অন্যদের না করে অবজ্ঞা না করে নিন্দা । 

সহানুভূতিশীল : একজন সৎ ব্যক্তি মানবীয় গুণাবলির দ্বারা পরিচালিত হবে। সে জানে যে মানুষ মানুষের জন্য। সে ঈশ্বরের করুণায় উত্তরাধিকার সূত্রে ভালো গুণাবলির হবে। তার বিচার বুদ্ধিজ্ঞান রয়েছে। তার ব্যাপক মানবিক উদ্দীপনা এবং ঐকান্তিকতার জ্ঞান রয়েছে। মানুষের দুঃখদুর্দশায় তার হৃদয় কাঁদবে এবং বিষণ্ণ হবে। তিনি বদান্যতা ও দয়ার একজন অবতার। একজন ভদ্রলোক সাধারণ মানুষের ভোগান্তি দূর করতে কাজ করে। সে মানবতার গভীরে প্রবেশ করে এবং আশার আলো দেওয়ার জন্য তার সর্বোত্তম চেষ্টা করে। সে কখনো তার এ মানবিক দৃষ্টিভঙ্গির বিপথে যায় না। সে সকল মানুষকে তার ভাই মনে করে। সে মানবজাতির জন্য অবদান রেখে আনন্দিত হয়। প্রকৃতপক্ষে, একজন সত্যবাদী ভদ্রলোক সহানুভূতিশীল এবং দয়ালু হবে। 

উপসংহার: প্রকৃতপক্ষে, একজন ভদ্রলোক যে সে কাউকে দুঃখ এবং নির্যাতন করে না। তার অসীম ক্ষমতা এবং মনের অন্তর্নিহিত সচেতনতা আছে। একজন ভদ্রলোক অবশ্যই সৎ, সত্যবাদী, সাহসী এবং আত্ম-নির্ভরশীল হবে।
