Essay - Your Favourite Game

Introduction: Football is my favourite game. I like it most. Everyday I play it in the afternoon. I am never exhausted of it. In fact, it has become a part and parcel of my life. My life is almost impossible without football.  

History of football: The game of football has a long history. The specialists differ in this case. It is said by many that the Christian evangelists innovated the game of football in their country. Football was played in ancient Greece, China and England. But none has any doubt that the present football is emerged at the hands of the English people. They are the father of modern football.  

Description of Football: Football is made of leather. It has a bladder which is filled with air. Its weight is 14 ounce to 16 ounce. Its breadth is 27-28 inch.

Description of the field: The game of football needs a plain field. This field may be of two lengths. The larger field is 130 yards wide and 100 yards long. The international football field is (100-120) yards long and (70- 80) yards wide. There are two goal posts of the two sides of the ground. The rod which is on the post is called bar. The two poles are apart from 8 ft. The bar remains at the height of 8 ft. from the ground.  

Description of rules, regulations: Football is played between two teams. Each team has eleven players. Among them, one is a goal-keeper, three are half-backs, two are backs and five are forwards. The forward players try to push the ball into the goal post of the opponent team. The two back players play to defend the attack of the opposition whereas three half-back players try to defend and supply ball to the forwards. The goal keeper works the most important work. He can use both hands and feet to play. His main duty is to avert the attack of the opposing shots. He keeps constant vigilance on the match.  

The game of football has seventeen rules. A referee conducts the whole match. He is helped by two linesmen. No player except the goal-keeper can touch the ball with hands. No player can illegally heat or attack its opponents. When any breach of rule is done, it is called foul.' The player, who does this, is either warned or expelled from the match. When ever the ball enters into the goal post of any team, a goal is made. The team which scores more goals becomes the winner. If any team fails to score more goals, the match becomes a draw and no team is declared winner. 

Why I like football most?: I am highly fond of football. The idea of football is always with me. It gives me much pleasure. It helps me to mould my body. It helps to build a powerful, strong and pain-staking body. It keeps me away from bad company. Whenever I play football, I get a rare kind of suspense and thrill. I become animated. Whenever I enjoy the match either on television or other media, I get thrilled. It also helps to cultivate discipline and laws which are essential for everyone. It also helps to create unity, peace and fellow feelings. Considering all these, I like football very most. 

Conclusion: Football is an international game. It is played by almost every country in the world. It has greater privileges. It helps to create international prestige and unity. Everyone should come forward to improve football. I always wish that our country will get much dignity and honour from football. If our country will qualify the world cup football, my dream and aspiration will be fulfilled. I wish I were a world famous footballer.

ভূমিকা: ফুটবল আমার প্রিয় খেলা। আমি এটি সবচেয়ে বেশি পছন্দ করি। প্রতিদিন বিকেলে আমি ফুটবল খেলা করি। আমি কখনো এ জন্য বিরক্তবোধ করি না। প্রকৃতপক্ষে, এটি আমার জীবনের একটি অবিচ্ছেদ্য অংশে পরিণত হয়েছে। ফুটবল ছাড়া আমারা জীবন অসম্ভব।  

ফুটবলের ইতিহাস : ফুটবল খেলার একটি দীর্ঘ ইতিহাস রয়েছে। বিশেষজ্ঞরা এ বিষয়ে ভিন্ন মত পোষণ করে। অনেকে বলেন যে খ্রিস্টান সুসমাচার প্রচারকারীরা তাদের দেশে ফুটবল খেলার প্রবর্তন করেছিল। ফুটবল প্রাচীন গ্রিস, চীন এবং ইংল্যান্ডে খেলা হতো। কিন্তু কারো কোন সন্দেহ নেই যে ইংলিশদের হাতে ফুটবল খেলার জন্য হয়েছে। তারা আধুনিক ফুটবলের জনক। 

ফুটবলের বর্ণনা : ফুটবল চামড়ার তৈরি। এর একটি ব্লাডার আছে যেটা বায়ু ভর্তি থাকে। এর ওজন ১৪ আউন্স থেকে ১৬ আউন্স হয়ে থাকে। এর প্রস্হ ২৭-২৮ ইঞ্চি।

মাঠের বর্ণনা: ফুটবল খেলার জন্য একটি সমতল মাঠের দরকার। এ মাঠ দুই দৈর্ঘ্যের হতে পারে। বড় মাঠটি ১৩০ গজ চওড়া এবং ১০০ গঞ্জ দীর্ঘ। আন্তর্জাতিক ফুটবল মাঠ ১০০ - ১২০ এবং ৭০-৮০ চওড়া হয়। সেখানে মাঠের দুই পাশে দুটো গোল পোস্ট থাকে। পোস্টের উপর একটি দন্ড থাকে তাকে বার বলে। খুঁটি দুটো ৮ ফুট দূরে থাকে। বারটি মাটি থেকে ৮ ফুট উপরে থাকে।  

নিয়ম কানুনের বর্ণনা : ফুটবল দুটি দলের মধ্যে খেলা হয়। প্রত্যেক দলে এগারো জন করে খেলোয়াড় থাকে। তাদের মধ্যে একজন গোলকিপার, তিন জন হাফব্যাক, দুই জন ব্যাক এবং পাঁচজন সামনে থাকে। সামনের পাঁচজন খেলোয়াড় বিরোধী দলের গোল পোস্টের নিকে বল মারার চেষ্টা করে। দুই জন ব্যাক প্লেয়ার বিরোধীদের আক্রমণ প্রতিরক্ষা করে যেখানে তিন জন হাফ ব্যাক খেলায়াড় গোল রক্ষা করার চেষ্টা করে এবং বল সামনের দিকে সরবরাহ করে। গোলরক্ষকই সবচেয়ে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ কাজ করে। সে হাত এবং পা উভয়ই খেলার সময় ব্যবহার করতে পারে। তার প্রধান দায়িত্ব হলো অপর নিকের আক্রমণাত্মক শটগুলো প্রতিরোধ করা। সে ম্যাচের উপর সর্বনা কড়া নজর রাখে। ফুটবল খেলার ১৭টি নিয়ম আছে। একজন রেফারি সম্পূর্ণ ম্যাচ পরিচালনা করেন। তিনি দুই জন লাইন্সম্যানের সহায়তা পান। গোলকিপার ছাড়া কোন খেলোয়াড় হাত দিয়ে বল স্পর্শ করতে পারে না। কোন খেলোয়াড় অবৈধভাবে এর বিপক্ষকে আঘাত বা আক্রমণ করতে পারে না। যখন কোন আইনের লঙ্ঘন হয়, এটিকে ফাউল বলে। খেলোয়াড় যারা এটি করে তাকে সতর্ক সংকেত দেওয়া হয় অথবা ম্যাচ থেকে বহিষ্কৃত হয়। যখন বল কোন দলের গোল পোস্টে প্রবেশ করে, একটি গোল হয়। যে দল বেশি গোল অর্জন করে তারা জয়ী হয়। যদি কোন দল বেশি গোল অর্জন করতে ব্যর্থ হয়, ম্যাচ ড্র হয় এবং কোন দলকেই জয়ী ঘোষণা করা হয় না।  

যে জন্য আমি ফুটবল বেশি পছন্দ করি: আমি ব্যাপকভাবে ফুটবল পছন্দ করি। ফুটবলের ধারণা সর্বদা আমার জানা। এটা আমাকে অনেক আনন্দ দেয়। এটা আমাকে আমার শরীর গঠন করতে সহায়তা করে। এটি একটি শক্তিশালী, ক্ষমতাশালী এবং কষ্ট সহনীয় দেহ গঠন করতে সাহায্য করে। এটি আমাকে কুসঙ্গ থেকে দূরে রাখে। যখন আমি ফুটবল খেলি, আমি এক ধরনের সংশয় এবং মজা পাই। আমি প্রাণবন্ত হই। যখন আমি টেলিভিশন বা অন্য মাধ্যমে কোন ম্যাচ উপভোগ করি, আমি মনোমুগ্ধ হই। এটি আবার নিয়ম শৃখলা গঠন করতে সাহায্য করে যেটা প্রত্যেকের জন্য প্রয়োজনীয়। এটা একতা, শান্তি এবং সহানুভূতি সৃষ্টিতেও সাহায্য করে। এগুলো বিবেচনা করে, আমি ফুটবল বেশি পছন্দ করি।  

উপসংহার : ফুটবল একটি আন্তর্জাতিক খেলা। এটা পৃথিবীর প্রায় সবদেশেই খেলা হয়। এর অনেক সুযোগ সুবিধা রয়েছে। এটা আন্তর্জাতিক সম্মান এবং একতা সৃষ্টি করতে সাহায্য করে। প্রত্যেকে ফুটবলের উন্নতির জন্য এগিয়ে আসা উচিত। আমি সর্বদা আশাবাদী যে ফুটবল থেকে আমাদের দেশ অনেক মর্যাদা এবং সম্মান পাবে। যদি আমাদের দেশ ফুটবল বিশ্ব কাপের জন্য যোগ্য হয়, আমার আশা আকাঙ্ক্ষা পূর্ণ হবে।
