Essay - Misuse of Gas

Introduction: Bangladesh is a small country with growing problems. Among all problems, misuse of gas is a great one. Development is impossible without gas. In other words, gas and development go side by side. But this gas is misused in many ways. The misuse is going from bad to worse. All are getting concerned with this problem.  

Misuse: Many causes are responsible for the misuse. In most houses, housewives keep their burners on. They think it better than wasting match-sticks next. They do not have a grain of sense about the natural wealth. To them, a match - stick is more valuable. They do not know how much harm they are doing to the country. Some keep their burners on in fear of load-shedding. Illegal use is another cause. In hotels and restaurant it is misused. In big cities, many use gas to dry their clothes. In these ways, our valuable asset is misused. 

Effects: The effects of the misuse are many. For misuse of gas, its shortage is increasing. For misuse, many people are not getting the chance to use it. The vehicles do not get enough gas. So, our communication system may fall in problem. Some power stations produce power with the help of gas. These stations will also fall in problem. The whole country will be in darkness. The gas driven mills and factories will stop. The production will be decreased. Thus the overall development of the country will slow down. 

Ways of solution: Immediate steps should be taken to stop the misuse. At first we have to be more conscious. Public awareness is a must. The illegal users must be punished. Law should be introduced to stop misuse. Vigilant watch is needed on mills and factories.  

Conclusion: In fine, we can say that misuse of gas is a great problem. Only the proper use of gas can ensure the overall development of the country. So, it should be solved at any cost. It is high time we solved the problem. Conscious people should work together with the government in this regard. Otherwise, we all fall into a greater danger.

ভূমিকা : বাংলাদেশ বৃদ্ধিজনিত সমস্যাগ্রস্ত একটি ছোট দেশ। সব সমস্যার মধ্যে গ্যাসের অপব্যবহার একটি বড় সমস্যা। গ্যাস ছাড়া উন্নয়ন অসম্ভব। অন্যকথায়, গ্যাস এবং উন্নয়ন পাশাপাশি এগিয়ে চলে। কিন্তু এ গ্যাস বিভিন্নভাবে অপচয় হয়। গ্যাসের অপব্যবহার খারাপ থেকে আরো খারাপের দিকে ধাবিত হচ্ছে। এ সমস্যার জন্য সকলে উদ্বিগ্ন। 

অপব্যবহার : অপব্যবহারের জন্য অনেকগুলো কারণ দায়ী! অধিকাংশ বাড়িতে গৃহিণীরা তাদের চুল্লি জ্বালিয়ে রাখে। তারা মনেকরে আর একটা ম্যাচের কাঠি জ্বালানোর চেয়ে এটা জ্বালিয়ে রাখা ভালো। তাদের জাতীয় সম্পদ সম্পর্কে সামান্যতম জ্ঞান নেই। তাদের কাছে একটি ম্যাচের কাঠি অনেক মূল্যবান। তারা জানে না কিভাবে তারা দেশের ক্ষতি করছে। অনেকে লোড শেডিংয়ের ভয়ে তাদের চুল্লি চালু রাখে। অবৈধ ব্যবহার অন্য আরেকটি ই কারণ। হোটেল এবং রেস্তোরাঁয় এর অপব্যবহার করা হয়। বড় বড় শহরে অনেকে তাদের কাপড় চোপড় শুকাতে গ্যাস ব্যবহার করে। এভাবে আমাদের মূল্যবান সম্পদ অপব্যবহার হয়।  

ফলাফল : অপব্যবহারের ফলাফল অনেক গ্যাসের অপব্যবহারের জন্য এর সংকট বৃদ্ধি পাচ্ছে। অপব্যবহারের জন্য অনেক লোক এটা ব্যবহার করার সুযোগ পাচ্ছে না। যানবাহনগুলো পর্যাপ্ত গ্যাস পায় না। সুতরাং আমাদের যোগাযোগ ব্যবস্থা সমস্যায় পড়ছে। অনেক বিদ্যুৎ কেন্দ্র গ্যাসের সাহায্যে শক্তি উৎপাদন করে। এ কেন্দ্রগুলো সমস্যায় পতিত হচ্ছে। সমগ্র দেশ অন্ধকারে থাকবে। গ্যাস চালিত মিল এবং কলকারখানা বন্ধ হয়ে যাবে। উৎপাদন কমে যাবে। এভাবে সমগ্র দেশের উন্নতি হ্রাস পাবে।  

সমস্যা সমাধানের উপায়: অপব্যবহার বন্ধ করতে দ্রুত পদক্ষেপ নেওয়া উচিত। প্রথমে আমাদের অধিক সচেতন হতে হবে। অবশ্যই গণসচেতনতা বাড়াতে হবে। অবৈধ ব্যবহারকারীদের অবশ্যই শাস্তি দিতে হবে। অপব্যবহার বন্ধ করতে আইন কার্যকর করতে হবে। মিল-কারখানার উপর সতর্ক নজর রাখা দরকার। 

উপসংহার : পরিশেষে আমরা বলতে পারি যে গ্যাসের অপব্যবহার একটি বড় সমস্যা। একমাত্র গ্যাসের যথাযথ ব্যবহার সমগ্র দেশের উন্নয়ন নিশ্চিত করতে পারে। তাই যে কোন এটা সমাধান করা উচিত। এ সমস্যা সমাধানের এখনই উপযুক্ত সময়। এ বিষয়ে সরকারের সাথে সচেতন নাগরিকদের এক সাথে কাজ করা উচিত। অন্যথায়, আমরা সকলে গুরুতর বিপদের মুখে পতিত হবো।
